Agripower Silicon Fertiliser is a safe
organic fertiliser that has been now certified by Biological Farmers
Association of Australia (BFA).
The agripower Silicon Fertiliser is excellent in
its own right but also works to support other fertilisers such as N:P:K in that
it will increase the plant's uptake of these fertilisers and will also reduce
the runoff and leaching of these chemical fertilisers thereby reducing damage
to land, waterways, and the Barrier Reef.
In late 2008/2009 major supermarket groups in UK
and Europe, such as Tesco and Saintsburys introduced a requirement for Carbon
Footprinting of products on their shelves. At the Melbourne Climate Change
Conference the Chief Executive of Fonterra Group was questioned on the impact
this decision would have on export sales from Australia and New Zealand, due to the "air
miles". Fonterra responded by saying air miles result in less than 4% of
the Carbon Footprint to Europe whereas chemical fertilisers such as Nitrogen
(N) account for just under 34%.
An additional benefit in using Silicon
Fertilisers is that the more Silicon a plant can take in, the more Carbon from
Carbon Dioxide (CO2) the plant will sequester through the Silicon
increase in the plant's Phytoliths. This sequestered Carbon is effectively
opalised and will not be released through normal destruction or burning, etc.
In fact Phytoliths can sequester carbon for in the order of 35,000 years.
